Help with Navigating this Site

Greetings everyone!

I have been in the process of transferring over to Wordpress for this website, particularly to offer you the convenience of a Navigation bar at the top so you can easily read the main information regarding the foundational content here; The Red Tent, Empowerment Workshops, Women's Gatherings and healing, The Circle of Maidens, and Spiritual Reflections. Unfortunately, Wordpress does not offer the combination of elements that I need in order to design the site in the needed manner through using their free options. So for now we remain here at blogspot, and I thought I would give you some helpful hints on how to find what you need here without a Navigation bar.

1)Take advantage of the search box in the upper left hand corner. Use specifics, and then click on "search this blog". Search examples would be:
Red Tent Temple dates, or: Workshops, CT, or: Temple Share list July 2008

2)Use the side bar. I have helpful links there for the people involved in the Movement, for paying for workshops, making donations, subscribing to a feed, and the almighty Calendar to view the integrated schedule of events. If you use Gmail you can very easily add dates to your own calendar.

3)Subscribe to a feed. If you keep up on all of Spiral Traditions and wish to not miss a beat.... subscribe using your google reader or whatever feed service you use. Then you will always know when a new post has been made ... but you will have to come directly to this site to take advantage of the side bar tools (and the pretty red ambiance). Subscription buttons for this are on the lower side bar.

4)Use the tags. At the bottom of each post there are categories. Find one you like and click on it to list all the posts under that category.

Have FUN!

~Ananda

They will demonstrate both conceptual and tangible ways to work with and through conflict, leading us gracefully into:

The 4th Alternative

When couples face challenges in their relationships, they commonly resort to 3 ways of interacting:

1. attempt to influence others;

2. become adaptive;

3. avoid or withdraw physically and/or emotionally.

This workshop focuses upon strategies for interrupting each of these intimacy-reducing patterns.Couples will have an opportunity to identify which patterns are most active in their relationship and how to providethemselves with the safety necessary to deepen intimacy. Couples will be given specific skills for creating and maintaining individual and collective empowerment.

Facilitators: Dr. Paul Dunion and Connie Jones Dunion

About Paul and Connie: Paul, a psychotherapist with an EdD, has been offering workshops and writing

articles about human intimacy for the past 25 years. He is the creator of Shadow Marriage Counseling, a

therapeutic model for guiding couples. Paul has authored two books: Temptation In The House Of The

Lord, and Shadow Marriage - A Descent Into Intimacy. This latest book project inspired Paul, along with his

wife Connie, to begin offering the Couples Retreats in 2004. Connie is currently being trained and certified

in ShadowWork Group Facilitation. Along with her own 35-year journey of self & soul-discovery, Connie

brings 12 years of loving Paul and 27 years of experience working intimately with individuals as a colon

hydrotherapist to Shadow Marriage. Viewed as a bioenergetic form of working with Shadow, Connie's

practice of colon hydrotherapy focuses on balancing the lower chakras by releasing the emotional, mental,

Auer Farm Wish List: Sustaining our Red Tent Temple

We are truly blessed to have landed this space at Auer Farm to hold our Monthly Red Tent Temples. A huge thank you to Katy for facilitating this and for creating inventive ways for us to compensate the farm.

It is time for the Women of the Temple to take a look through our homes and gardens, and see if our trash might become their treasure - and in turn help us maintain our space rental. Anything donated can be dropped off during the week (to the Farm) or brought the day of the temple.

Here is what Auer Farm has put on their wish list:

PLANTS: perennials, annuals, veggies, herbs, shrubs, trees... etc. Divide and conquer! If you are dividing the plants in your garden please consider potting up some of the halves for the Farm. We get nursery price value for them and it goes right to the cost of space! AND many of the plants become used for educational purposes, for the students who come to Auer Farm to learn and for the 4H programs.

LUMBER: Planks or slabs of extra wood

COMPOST

FURNITURE: Sofa, chair, etc. for the learning center or temple space.

TOOLS: For fix it projects and for gardening; both adult and children sized materials wanted

Other Recycled materials: Your trash might be their treasure!!!!

If you are not local but feel called to support our Temple, PLEASE DO - by using the Donate button on the right hand side bar. Your payment will be securely processed usung Pay Pal. You will undoubtedly effect this movement in a wonderful way!

For arrangements or questions please contact our RTT liaison and Lead Teacher for Auer Farm, KATY: (860) 242-7144

Thank you!

It's just so exciting! Another Temple to be raised by the wonderful Yarrow of Witchwood who regularly leaves me sweet comments on my Plant Journeys blog. Yarrow - I'm thrilled to have you as part of our beautiful red web and I wish you many Moons ahead of blissful growth, celebration, and transformation for your Temple and all the Women who will be held by it.

See her new Temple blog and if you know anyone in TN - forward the link!!!!!

Are there more of you out there wishing to raise a Temple of your own? Email me or visit ALisa's site for more information. There will be a conference call on JULY 23 - don't miss it!

Also - There is a Red Tent Temple at Motherhouse in Cornwall CT that I recently learned about. It's a different structure than the one we use - but that's the diverse beauty of this movement!

Gratitude for the Temple of the Feminine

A toast!

To The beautiful Women who upheld the Red Tent Temple this month. Thank you for your unending dedication to this vision and for continuing to bring us together in this healing and empowering space. Thank you Virginia, Katy, Danna, Margot, Liberty, and the women who came with their open hearts and gifts.

It is an exciting time and women are ready. Temples new are being raised every couple of months. Wonderful things are occurring as ripple effects from being inside the red tent, as we re-weave our woman bonds and pursue our authentic lives.

Our next Temple on August 3 I deem to be: "bring someone with you day". Bring a teen, a Grandmother, a sister or friend. Bring your Mom or a neighbor. Bring a belly dancer or a drummer. Let another woman know that there is this special place for her to be. Keep the word rolling!

If you would like to Priestess for us on this day for formal circle, send me an email!

ALisa Starkweather sends her love and encouragement to all of us here at the Spiral chapter. She and her helpers are working hard to create a central online organizing space for the Temple and is especially inspired by the success of the various Temples across the U.S. and internationally... and so the reciprocity unfolds as we watch this beautiful transformation take place before our eyes. Keep watch on ALisa's site if you are a pending RTT organizer .. for future conference calls to partake of.

***Anyone interested in documenting this movement, or part of it, please come forward! We would love to have a youtube video made, articles, book or journal entries .... this is more vital than we can know. NOW is the time for us to re-write our sacred scriptures.... and who better for the task than us women?!

And...... August 7-10 will be the Daughters of the Earth Gathering at Earthlands (Mass) ..... if you want a full on amazing immersion.

Bright Summer Blessings,
Ananda

I will dearly miss all of you this month while I stay close to home on my Son's 9th birthday, and the day after, my own 33rd birthday. I will be loving that the Red Tent will be happening at the same time even if I can't be there.

It's going to be beautiful as always .... with Virginia's radiance, Katy's spirit and Earth loving ways, Margot as our initiate Priestess, we have a new woman joining us who is a Reiki healer, and our Beautiful Danna who comes in with sweet, consistent peace. Maidens Blossoming

When Women gather in sacred space and welcome in their entire self; whole, unedited, authentic; it invokes the most powerful resources for magic and transformation. More and more important is it becoming to welcome our young maidens into this way of becoming, where they can grow into themselves through trust, truth, awareness, and deep support. In a world which simultaneously forces us to hold a facade, yet rips away our original rights of emotional and social protection, we are left with a world of lost and angry adolescents. Even with our loving family homes, there is a social aspect completely missing. Where are they allowed to safely break the rules to find the right boundaries? Express creativity without working for approval? Where are they allowed to question injustices in order to cultivate understanding and innovative solutions? Where can they learn a deep sense of self... in order to become resilient, self-guided adults? Where can they cry about losses and fears ... in front of friends who hold the space for them?

When we create sacred space, and we peel away the bitter human rinds, we find sweet common grounds. We find humans striving for real interdependence. Humans ashamed at careless action ..... and humans with an intrinsic drive to move towards love.

Young Maidens learning about their emotional and physical landscape need a place to usher them in. There are more and more of these circles being formed. There are more mentorship services, and more schools and parents asking for dynamic action toward integrating self-awareness activities and programs for our youth. We must start earlier, with preventative emotional and spiritual health, if we are to raise the next generation in a way which will sustain both human and ecological balance.

On a personal note .... a toast to the beautiful Spiral Tradition Maidens!
To changing the world one spiral at a time......

Red Tent Afterglow

Greetings on the day after our gathering. I sit in fullness in awe of the day's events. I am grateful, filled with love and renewal. " thanks yours" to all who came, to ALisa who has inspired such returns to women's ways, to Ananda for her ceaseless caring and holding of this RTT, to Lucy for being the welcomer, to Audrey for Priestessing, to all those who brought food and themselves into circle, and to Katy and the Auer Farm for having the glorious space for us to just simply BE.

I walked into an exquisite gathering of intimate sharing in the afternoon after having spent the morning volunteering doing art with cancer kid survivors and their families for the CCMC Cancer Survivor Day "Cycle of Life". An amazing morning of excitement and bussiness was balanced with the quiet and intimacy of our RTT. The smaller circle lent itself to group discussion and a fullness of being welcomed into the fold. Ahhhhhhhh, breathe, slow down, sit and just be and allow all that is there and in here to simply BE! As the afternoon drew us closer to our ceremonial time, a few other women joined us and were graciously welcomed by our sister wisewoman, Lucy. Audrey led us in a most powerful opening and circle ceremony that brought us inward into a fullness and sharing that was amazingly profound through the creation of a Mandala. The day ended as perfectly as it began with the sacredness of letting our creation be returned to our Great Mother. - Into the earth it went ( literaly and figuratively) as it was buried in a garden corner with each of us digging and then covering it with soil as we sang Monica's circle song led by Ananda - Yes, Monica, Katie and all of you wonderous goddesses were there with us in spirit as we sang and gave the mandala back to the earth. Whew! the spiral continues to spin and to weave as we return to our individual but not separate ways of being in this world.

We have a priestess for next month's gathering!!! Our beautiful sister and wisewomyn, Margot (I am so horrific with names, so I hope I have that right).

We have wonderful opportunities to gather in community between now and then as well, so I invite all of you who were together on Sunday and all those who were there in our hearts to join Kathy Gillane and me at the upcoming

North East Hand Drumming Expo.

It is on June 8th at the East Hartford Community Cultural Center on Chapman Street from 1-4PM .
There will be handdrumming workshops facilitated by amazing drummers, a 3 hour long community drum circle and my husband, Craig and I will be guest facilitators for a portion of that. (www.ctdrummingnetwork.com)

Auer Farm is hosting a beautiful day for the public the day before Father's Day, It is the farm's community service day and takes place on June14th from 9am to 11pm . Craig and I will be leading a community drum circle as a FUN raiser / gathering funds for RTT in the morning from 11am -12:00 pm
Donations are gladly accepted as you are able to give ~ $10 pp or with family groups $5 pp.. gratefully accepted. (www.jestplaytivity.com) (www.auerfarm.org).

Last but not least, I invite those who are called to join me in Bloomfield at the Enlightened Professionals Center for the "Celebrate The Feminine day" where I will be leading the opening circle. It is on June 28th from 9-7, cost is $45 pp and there will be 6 glorious women providing workshops, vendor tables anad lots of sharing. Details are attached and will be on my website, as well as on the spiral traditions blog calendar. (www.EPLLC.ORG)

Spread the word, come and play, and I look forward to meeting and greeting those of you who are able to join me in the various events in June.

May the Peace that Surpasses all Understanding awaken in us ALL.
Namaste,
Virginia

RTT Bouncing Emails

To the Women of the Red Tent:

There are several emails that are not accepting the RSVP email, so if you are expecting one and haven't gotten it - that's probably why. If you plan on attending and/or would like to remain on the notification list, please do "OK" the Spiral Traditions (at gmail dot com) address on your contacts, so that your spam monster doesn't eat it. Rsvp's are indeed important - for both parties.

If you do not wish to receive any more, and are - just let me know and I will take you off the list.

Thanks!!!

Can't wait to see every one's beautiful faces on Sunday!

Temple Priestess Needed

To the Women coming (or thinking of coming) to the Red Tent Temple this Sunday:

Are any of you called to lead the formal circle?

Please come forward and share your gifts. The Circles at the Temple rotate leadership; this renders the most out of our collaboration and out of our diversity. Each woman has something unique and special, which we can all learn from. If you are willing to use your gifts for a little while on Sunday, please let us know, and I will email you the small list of guidelines that we use.

Blessed Be!

Carpool to the Red Tent

Greetings!

As we ride along this adventure of creating the Red Tent together, we are learning more about it. We are learning more about how it works and what some of the needs are.

One of those needs is to help ensure that women who wish to attend the Temple but are without transportation, are supported by the greater community. Until we come up with the best way to coordinate willing drivers and their matching passengers, we'll use this blog space.

If you can offer a ride, or need one, please take advantage of the comments area at the end of this entry to connect yourselves, or the Spiral Traditions email and we will help coordinate.

Bright Blessings!

The Red Tent Temple of the Spiral Traditions Chapter.

~Recreating the Women's Moonlodge for today's culture~

Please forward this to anyone you wish to be invited. Last month's first gathering was absolutely wonderful!

~ It is scheduled for Sunday April 6th, 2008, from 11 am to 5+ pm.
~ Set up will be from 9-11am.
~ A brief opening/orientation circle will be held at 12 noon.
~ 11-12 am and 12:30-3pm will be free-form, organic time, where you can do what you wish in the space.
~ Formal Circle will be held from 3-5pm
~ 5-7 pm will be community time (farewells, hugs, networking, resting after circle..) and break down of the space.

Located on the beautiful land of Auer Farm we will be held in the arms of Mother Earth while we retreat safely and honor the feminine spirit. The Red Tent will happen every month, on the Sunday closest to the New (dark) Moon.

Inside the Red Tent .........you will find a space to heal and be heard. To be your whole self. To go within and tap into your divine creative source. There will be space to rest, journal, cry, connect with sisters, breathe, meditate, and reconnect with what ties us all together, being woman. Womb or not, bleeding or not, all women from all walks of life are welcome.

Suggested Donations of $10.00 to $20.00 are requested but not mandatory.

There will be a beautiful storytellers chair, a greivance altar, a community altar, herbal teas and homemade soup. It is sacred space to go within and honor your divine feminine being. A place to remember.

This month Virginia will bless us with the special opportunity to participate in a group prayer vigil in light of the Moses Code. (Thanks Virginia!)

Young women of Menarche age are welcome for all of the day except the formal circle at 3:00 which is adults only.

This vision is held in the spirit of community and collaboration. Everyone who sets this up is working on a volunteer basis, which makes your attendance and contributions most valuable. Please take a look at the share list below and the garden volunteer dates to see where you are called to contribute to keeping this vision alive and well. It is vital to our culture and our next generation that we reclaim our traditions of healing and listening. We are a people starved for authenticity - but we don't have to be. The Red Tent Temple is a transformational movement.

RSVP's are important. We need to know how much soup to make or request, and who can bring what. When you refer to the share list below - please email us on what it is you are called to bring or do, so we can keep this day organized and wonderful.
